Episode #3 Shuffle Ball Change
The playwright, storyteller, thespian, director and public figure that I am, was all born with a shuffle ball change learned at the Mark Ross School of Dance.
Whether it be the lights of the high school auditorim stage for a dance receital or the the television studio lights in Muncie's WIBC UHF Channel 49, for our dance review, I was hooked. When it came to the stage, I had found a home.
I also became aware of my sexuality at the same time. Mark was a local celebrate who was a dancer on the Garry Moore TV Variety Show. He'd even danced on Broadway! He was unpolemically open about being gay. And no one seemed to care. He saw me, before I was equipped to see myself. He mentored me by encouraging me to be my authentic self.
